Zhili Cheng
Zhili Cheng is a Master of Biomedical Science candidate at the University of Melbourne, specialising in studying metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in Montgomery Lab. His current project focuses on the role of inositol phosphate 1 polyphosphatase (INPP1) in regulating hepatic lipid metabolism, aiming to unveil novel therapeutic targets for conditions such as MAFLD and steatohepatitis.
During his master's program, Zhili has gained extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and multi-omics analyses, to explore the genetic and complex biochemical pathways contributing to liver diseases. His work has significant implications for understanding the pathophysiology of MASLD and developing targeted interventions.
