Brainstem and Hypothalamic circuits that control feeding (#26)

Martin Myers 1
  1. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, United States

Dr. Myers’ presentation will feature two vignettes.  The first focuses on the identification of hypothalamic neuron populations crucial for the control of feeding by leptin, as well as roles in preventing “leptin resistance.”  He will also discuss brainstem dorsal vagal complex cell types that contribute to nausea-like aversive responses and the suppression of food intake in normal physiology and in response to anti-obesity therapies.
